2025 marked a turning point for Crooked Farmz, as we began to focus more deliberately on mixed vegetable production. Now entering our eighth growing season, and building on the success of our pilot projects in flexible infill agriculture, CSA shares, and local urban farm stands, we’re ready to begin the next chapter—bringing fresh, market-garden produce directly to you from our farm plots in East York and Downsview Park.

Food as Medicine: Our Philosophy of Farming
1. We grow using natural farming techniques that value the ecosystem and meet or exceed organic standards: this means no chemical pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides on your vegetables at any time.
2. We practice double and triple inoculation of all vegetables using healthy soil probiotics: this means Crooked Farmz compost and compost tea for seed, seedling, and field crop placement.
3. We prioritize flavour and nutrient density in our vegetables: this means healthy plants are more important to us than growing produce with artificially induced size and perfectly sanitized appearance.
4. We sow a wide diversity of vegetables so that you’ll always be eating what’s in season: more biodiversity means a healthier farm ecosystem, and more diversity in our diets means healthier bodies and minds.
5. We offer radical transparency in our food growing practices: this means you’ll know where your food comes from, how it was grown, and have a personal relationship with your farmer throughout the season.
